Johann von Ringgenberg
Johann von Ringgenberg (documented in the years from 1291 to 1351) was a medieval poet . The Barons von Ringgenberg lived in what is now the Canton of Bern , northeast of the city of Interlaken .
There lived three men with this name. The first two were barons and in the course of time they have probably merged into one person.
The poet Johann von Ringgenberg
Johann I was the eldest son of Philip I, born around 1240. He became known as a poet in the 13th century, his role model was Reinmar von Zweter (1200 to after 1247). Due to the caption her ( Middle High German for lord, vassal or servant, but also for a man of nobility) in the Manessische Liederhandschrift , he probably lacked the accolade. In the Manessische Liederhandschrift, 17 verses in the same tone have been handed down by Johann von Ringgenberg . The poet Ulrich Boner dedicated his collection of fables, The Gemstone , to Johann von Ringgenberg as early as the first half of the 14th century , thus showing him his appreciation.
In 1283 he had to take over government after the death of his father. In 1291 the Interlaken Monastery settled a dispute over grazing rights in the Baron of Ringgenberg .
Presumably his son Johann II sealed the defeat in the wood dispute against the Interlaken monastery in 1303 . Johann II the Elder was 1307, Johann III. the younger 1331 knight. The former died in late 1350, the latter in 1348 during a plague parade . Johann II brought his baronial rule unscathed by the various wars in the first half of the 14th century.
Overall, however, the traditions are sometimes quite contradictory, so that some things remain open.
