Reinmar von Zweter
Reinmar von Zweter (* around 1200 probably in Zeutern , today in Ubstadt-Weiher in Baden-Württemberg ; † after 1248) was a German poet and probably of knightly origin from the family of the Lords of Zeutern .
Life
Reinmar von Zweter stated that he was “born on the Rhine and grew up in Austria” (saying no. 150). He began his poetic career around 1227 (Spruch Nr. 125) in Austria. In addition to a first time at the Babenberger Hof (under Leopold VI. And Friedrich II. ), Which could possibly have been under the influence of Walther von der Vogelweide (G. Reinmar von Zweter is considered to be an important representative of the song poetry between Walther von der Vogelweide and Frauenlob . Due to his high art form he was counted by the Mastersingers among the 12 founders of the master art.

The core of the traditional work of Reinmar von Zweter is a religious corpse and the sayings in the so-called Frau-Ehren-Tone , which are mainly found in the manuscripts C ( Große Heidelberger or Manessische Liederhandschrift , cod.pal.Germ. 848; formerly Pariser Liederhandschrift ) and D (Heidelberg, cod. Pal. Germ. 350) have come down to us.
Manuscript C contains the above-mentioned corpse (albeit incomplete) and 219 proverbs, 217 of which are in honorary tone; Handwriting D a total of 215 sayings. Since 139 Proverbs have been handed down twice, C and D together give 239 Proverbs.
In addition to these two most important manuscripts for the Reinmar tradition, other works by the poet have survived in around 30 manuscripts and fragments. In total, research has the corpse and around 260 sayings for which Reinmar's authorship seems secured; In the case of 22 stanzas handed down under Reinmar's name, this is disputed, 27 stanzas are regarded as spurious.
