Johanna Goerke

Johanna Görke (born May 10, 1942 in Berlin ) is a German painter and graphic artist who works in the areas of panel painting , printmaking and wall painting .

Life

Johanna Görke studied from 1961 to 1966 at the University of Fine and Applied Arts Berlin-Weißensee and graduated with a diploma. Then she set up a studio in Woltersdorf (near Berlin) and became a member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR . She created numerous works for public spaces, large-scale panel paintings for children's facilities.

In 1984 Johanna Görke left the GDR for East Westphalia . Here she was artistically and educationally active, creating backdrops for the Bielefeld puppet theater, scientific and children's book illustration, tempera pictures, drawings and landscape studies. In 1996 she returned to Woltersdorf. In 2012 she created the mural for the Panke-Haus family support center.
