Johanna Katharina Viktoria von Montfort-Tettnang (born October 9, 1678 , † January 26, 1759 in Sigmaringen ) was a countess of Montfort and princess and from 1715 to 1720 also regent of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen .

Life

Johanna Katharina was a daughter of Count Johann Anton I von Montfort-Tettnang (1635–1708) from his marriage to Countess Maria Viktorina von Spaur and Flavon (1651–1688).

She married Prince Meinrad II of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen (1673-1715) on November 22, 1700 . While her husband was stationed in the Austrian service in Vienna, she took care of the upbringing of the children. In 1707 she fled the turmoil of the War of the Spanish Succession with the children from Sigmaringen to live with her husband in Vienna. They only returned together seven years later.

After the death of her husband, Johanna Katharina, who was described as equally highly educated in spirit and soul, was regent in Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen for her underage son until 1720. During her reign she enfeoffed the Prussian war commissioner Dozem zu Kleve with the good Bistervelde . Johanna Katharina was the bearer of the Star Cross .
