Johannes Bodner

Johannes Bodner (born January 28, 1969 in Kufstein ) is an Austrian lawyer, politician ( ÖVP ) and former member of the state government of Staa II .

Bodner comes from a Tyrolean building contractor dynasty and worked for his parents' construction company Ing.Hans Bodner Bau GmbH & Co. KG while studying law . He completed his internship at the Kufstein District Court in 1996 and was a trainee in a law firm from 1997 to 2002. He has been registered as an independent attorney since 2002, and his legal profession was suspended while he was in government. Since 2003 he has been teaching private law at the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences . Between 2003 and 2005 he was also president of FC Kufstein .

Bodner is a member of the Wirtschaftsbund and only joined the ÖVP in 2004. In 2004 he was elected to the city council at the municipal council elections in Kufstein. His portfolio as a city councilor encompassed the areas of personnel, business and company settlement, tourism, law, sport, welfare, finance and transport. In the course of the government reshuffle of the Tyrolean state government van Staa II , Bodner was elected to the state council on January 3, 2006 and ended his activity as city council. His department as regional councilor includes the areas of economy, water law, water management, energy, spatial planning / building law, companies and holdings of the state as well as data protection.

After the ÖVP had suffered heavy losses in the state elections in Tyrol in 2008 and Elisabeth Zanon had demanded the post of governor Herwig van Staa , Bodner stood behind the governor.

Bodner is no longer a member of the new provincial government of Tyrol, but sits as the first vice-president of the Tyrolean state parliament and is chairman of the economic, technology and tourism committee. He is again working as a lawyer in his hometown of Kufstein in the law firm Petzer, Marschitz, Bodner.

On the night of April 10, 2010, Bodner, as the driver of his private vehicle in Kufstein with a blood alcohol concentration of 1.8 ‰, was stopped by the police and taken out of circulation, but he refused to resign.

Bodner is a member of the Catholic student union K.Ö.L. Ostaricia zu Innsbruck ( KÖL ) and the K.Ö.St.V. Cimbria Kufstein ( MKV ).
