Johannes Haym
Johannes Haym (* 16th century in Themar ; † 16th or 17th century) was a German Catholic clergyman and hymn poet . He worked as a priest and as cathedral vicar at the Augsburg cathedral . He composed several sacred songs, including a great passion . In Augsburg in 1590 he also brought out a collection of 19 Christmas carols that were sung in the cathedral for a long time. The song Ritter St. Georg in the Des Knaben Wunderhorn collection is based on his St. George song .
