The 1970/71 season was the 26th regular season of the International Hockey League . During the regular season, the seven teams played 72 games each. In the play-offs, the Port Huron flags prevailed and won the second Turner Cup in their club's history.
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Columbus Checkers went inactive.
- The Toledo Blades were sold and renamed the Toledo Hornets .

Semifinals
