The 1946/47 season was the second regular season of the International Hockey League . During the regular season, the five teams played 28 games each. In the play-offs, the Windsor Spitfires prevailed and won the first Turner Cup in their club's history.
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Windsor Gotfredsons changed their name to Windsor Staffords.
- The Detroit Metal Moldings were added to the league as an expansion team
