The 1970/71 season was the 26th regular season of the International Hockey League . During the regular season, the seven teams played 72 games each. In the play-offs, the Port Huron flags prevailed and won the second Turner Cup in their club's history.

Semifinals

In the semifinals, the Port Huron Flags, Des Moines Oak Leafs and Dayton Gems met each other, with Des Moines and Dayton each playing three games, while Port Huron only played two games. Port Huron and Des Moines finally qualified for the final .
