The 1953/54 season was the ninth regular season of the International Hockey League . During the regular season, the nine teams played between 64 and 65 games. In the play-offs, the Cincinnati Mohawks prevailed and won the second Turner Cup in their club history.
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Johnstown Jets from the Eastern Amateur Hockey League were added to the league as an expansion team.
- The Louisville Shooting Stars were added to the league as an expansion team.
- The Marion Barons were added to the league as an expansion team.
