The 1946/47 NHL season was the 30th season in the National Hockey League . Six teams played 60 games each. The Stanley Cup won the Toronto Maple Leafs after a 4-2 win in the final series against the Montréal Canadiens .
This season two records were set, which have been set, but have not yet been exceeded. Billy Taylor had seven assists in his Wings 10-6 win over Chicago. Howie Meeker scored five goals in his rookie season, also in a game against Chicago that Toronto won 10-4. He also prevailed against Gordie Howe in the fight for the Calder Trophy.
