The 1966/67 NHL season was the 50th season in the National Hockey League . Six teams played 70 games each. The Toronto Maple Leafs won the Stanley Cup after a 4-2 victory in the final series against the Montréal Canadiens and were the oldest cup winner with an average age of 31.4 years. The last year of the " Original Six " era was also Bobby Orr's first year . As the first attacking defender, he revolutionized the game.
