In the NHL in particular, Ullman was one of the most successful players ever in the 1960s, having been appointed to one of the NHL All-Star Teams twice and participating in the NHL All-Star Game eleven times . The best goalscorer of the 1964–65 NHL season was honored with induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1982 .
Career
Ullman spent his junior years between 1951 and 1954 with the Edmonton Oil Kings in the Western Canada Junior Hockey League . He then spent his first professional season with the Edmonton Flyers in the Western Hockey League .
When Norm Ullman came to the Red Wings for the 1955/56 season at the age of 19, the team had its best days behind them. He was an excellent attacking center, and from his third season he was successful with at least 20 goals almost every year. In 1968 he moved with Paul Henderson in exchange for Frank Mahovlich , Carl Brewer , Pete Stemkowski and Garry Unger to Toronto and there he was also able to convince, but as in Detroit, the team in Toronto was now on the decline. So Ullman failed to win the Stanley Cup . At the end of his career, Ullman came full circle, who played for the Edmonton Flyers in the WHL as a youth. He moved to the World Hockey Association for the Edmonton Oilers .
In 1982 he was honored with the induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame .
