Douglas Wagner "Doug" Bentley (born September 13, 1916 in Delisle , Saskatchewan , † November 14, 1973 in Saskatoon , Saskatchewan) was a Canadian ice hockey player who from 1939 to 1954 for the Chicago Black Hawks and New York Rangers in National Hockey League played.

Career

After his time as a junior with the Moose Jaw Millers , he came to the Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL and formed the "Pony Line" there with his brother Max and Bill Mosienko . Due to his speed and the goal hazard that came from him, he was the player on the team who got the most ice age. A few years later, the Hawks' third brother, Reggie Bentley, joined the Hawks. The three were the first brothers to form a complete storm line together for eleven games. He was usually found in the front of the scorer list.

In Chicago in 1950 he was voted the best Hawks player of the first half of the century. At the end of his career he played again with brother Max for the New York Rangers .

In 1964 he was honored with the induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame .
