Harvey "Busher" Jackson (* 19th January 1911 in Toronto , Ontario ; † 25. June 1966 ) was a Canadian ice hockey player , who from 1929 to 1944 for the Toronto Maple Leafs , New York Americans and Boston Bruins in the National Hockey League played .
Career
As a junior he won the Memorial Cup with the Toronto Marlboros in 1929 . When the Toronto Maple Leafs signed him shortly afterwards , he was the youngest player in the league at the age of 18. His incredible shot was the trademark of Busher, who together with Joe Primeau and Charlie Conacher in Toronto formed the "Kid Line". In the heyday of the “Kid Line”, he managed to score more than 20 goals in four consecutive seasons. In 1932 he won the Stanley Cup with the Maple Leafs . After Primeau retired, he played in a row with his brother Art before joining up with Syl Apps and Gordie Drillon .
He was given in May 1939 together with Elwyn "Doc" Romnes and three other players for Sweeney Schriner to the New York Americans . After two years with the Americans, the Boston Bruins bought him . He ended his career after three years in Boston.
He died as a result of a car accident. In 1971 he was honored with the induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame . This decision led to a heated argument with Conn Smythe , who was of the opinion that Jackson did not belong in the Hall of Fame due to his unsound lifestyle. When his concerns were passed over, Smythe resigned from the Hall of Fame.
