NHL All-Star Team
The NHL All-Star Team has been elected since the 1930/31 season.
After each season, representatives of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association elect a team, the NHL First All-Star Team , with the best players of the NHL season. This includes a goalkeeper , two defenders , a center , and a right and left winger . The corresponding votes are counted for all positions, with the second placed (or third and fourth placed in the defensive position) forming the Second All-Star Team . This can mean that players who are deployed in several positions are also represented in both All-Star teams. By 1946, the league's best coach was added to the All-Star Team. This award should not be confused with the NHL All-Star Game , which is played during the season and whose teams are voted by the fans.
