Martin A. Barry (born December 8, 1904 in Saint-Gabriel , Québec , † August 20, 1969 ) was a Canadian ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League from 1927 to 1940 . There he was active for the New York Americans , Boston Bruins , Detroit Red Wings and Montréal Canadiens .

Career

After a strong season with the "Montreal Bell Tepehone Team" Newsy Lalonde brought him to the New York Americans in 1927 , where he could not really assert himself. It wasn't until two years later in Boston that he made the breakthrough. From 1935 to 1939 he played for the Detroit Red Wings , with whom he won the Stanley Cup twice .

After his NHL career, he moved as a player-coach to the Minneapolis Millers in the American Hockey Association . In 1965 he was honored with the induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame .
