Course of the game
The All-Stars were able to keep the game against the reigning Stanley Cup champion open and equalized the hosts' lead three times. After the early goal by Frank Mahovlich (3rd), who was involved in all of his team's goals (2 goals, 1 assist), Henri Richard made a quick counter-attack (5th). Even the renewed leadership by Frank Mahovlich (13th) did not bother the All-Stars and Bobby Hull equalized before the first break (20th). After a goalless second third, Ed Litzenberger made sure his Maple Leafs (43.) took the lead again, but only lasted exactly 27 seconds before Marcel Pronovost scored the last goal of the game for the All-Stars.
