Johannes Kiefer

Johannes Kiefer (* 1964 in Munich ) is a German director and assistant director.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1983, Kiefer studied German and history at the Karlsgymnasium in Munich-Pasing, among other things. He worked as an assistant director in television productions such as Balko , Tatort and Der Bulle von Tölz , but was also involved in films such as Emil and the Detectives and Die Wilde Hühner und die Liebe . As an assistant editor he worked with Patricia Rommel , among others .

From 1998 he made his first film Gregor's Greatest Invention , which was released in 2001. Kiefer not only directed, but also wrote the script. Gregor's greatest invention received an Oscar nomination for Best Short Film in 2002 . Kiefer lives and works in Berlin.
