Johannes Korndörfer

Johannes Korndörfer is a German music theorist , church musician and composer .

Life

Korndörfer has been a lecturer and organizer of the Dresden composers' class since 1998 , which he attended from 1991 to 1998. Until 2006 he studied composition , music theory and piano with Jörg Herchet , Clemens Kühn , John Leigh and Christine Haupt. He continued his education with a degree in musicology . Korndörfer has been teaching music theory at the Dresden University of Music since 2006 , at the associated Saxon State High School for Music , at the TU Dresden since 2010 and at the Berlin University of the Arts since 2011. In 2009, the music theorist published a book about the composer Bernd Alois Zimmermann .

In 1999 Johannes Korndörfer was appointed to the office of Schifferkirche organist in the Maria am Wasser parish in Dresden- Hosterwitz . In the choir, together with Matthias Herbig, he leads several choirs and the Ensemble Maria am Wasser, which he founded .
