Johannes Krocker (musician)

Johannes Krocker , also Johannes Kroker and Johannes Crocker , (* around 1570 in Brieg ; † late 1626 in Königsberg ) was a German Kapellmeister and composer of the Baroque.

life and work

In 1604 Krocker was the electoral court musician in Königsberg. In 1608 he became vice conductor there and after Johannes Eccard's death in 1611 Kapellmeister. In addition to the treble players in Krocker's time, the band consisted of 7 to 8 musicians.

Only a few occasional compositions of Krocker's works have survived.
