Johannes Lipp
Johannes Lipp (* 1979 in Dillingen an der Donau ) is a German tuba player and founding member of the brass quintet of the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin .
Lipp received his first tuba lessons from his father at the age of eight and was only two years later the national winner of the Jugend musiziert competition . He then studied with Lothar Uth at the Leopold Mozart Conservatory in Augsburg . Lipp played with the Bavarian State Youth Orchestra , the Federal Youth Orchestra and as an academician in the Munich Philharmonic . He worked as a temporary worker with the Berlin Philharmonic and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Since September 2003 Lipp has been tuba player with the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin . In 2007 he founded the brass quintet of the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin together with Falk Maertens, Raphael Mentzen, Paolo Mendes and Andreas Klein.
