Johannes Michalak

Johannes Michalak (* 1967 ) is a German psychologist and university professor for clinical psychology and psychotherapy at the University of Witten / Herdecke . He is known for his work in the areas of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy  and embodiment in clinical psychology. Johannes Michalak is one of the directors of the Mindfulness Institute Ruhr.

Life

Johannes Michalak studied psychology at the Ruhr University Bochum . In 1999 he received his doctorate there in psychology and in the same year received his license to practice as a psychological psychotherapist (specialist knowledge of behavioral therapy ). In 2006 he completed his habilitation at the Ruhr University in Bochum. He held substitute professorships at the University of Heidelberg (2006–2007) and at the Ruhr University Bochum (2009–2010) as well as a visiting professorship at Queen's University  in Canada. In 2011 he took up a professorship for clinical psychology at the University of Hildesheim . Since 2014 he has been professor for clinical psychology and psychotherapy at the University of Witten / Herdecke.
