Johannes Ring

Johannes Ring (born June 3, 1945 in Bad Wörishofen ) is a German dermatologist and allergist . He held the chair for dermatology and allergology at the University Hospital of the Technical University of Munich . Ring retired on April 1st, 2014 and handed over the chair to the dermatologist Prof. Tilo Biedermann .

Life

Ring studied medicine and Bavarian history at the LMU Munich from 1964 to 1970 . He completed both courses with a doctorate: in 1970 he received his doctorate. med., 1979 Dr. phil. with a work on the image of Bavaria in Anglo-American magazines at the beginning of the 20th century.

After completing his doctorate, Ring was a research assistant at the "Institute for Surgical Research" at LMU Munich. In 1976 he completed his habilitation there in immunology . After completing his habilitation, he went to the Scripps Clinic in La Jolla , California for a research stay from 1977 to 1978 . He returned to Munich and was appointed adjunct professor at the LMU Munich in 1983, while his teaching license was extended to include dermatology and venereology. Until 1990 he was the senior clinical physician and head of the allergy department at the dermatology clinic of the LMU Munich. Between 1990 and 1995 Ring was a professor and director of the University Dermatology Clinic and Allergy Department at the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf . In 1995 he again accepted a position at the Technical University of Munich, where he still teaches today. Ring has published more than 600 original scientific papers and 400 reviews.

Ring is a member of the Catholic student union K.St.V. Südmark Munich in the KV ..
