Franz Haag

Franz Haag (born December 9, 1865 in Vienna ; † December 29, 1925 there ) was an Austrian sculptor .

Life

Franz Haag first studied at the Vienna School of Applied Arts and from 1888 to 1897 at the Academy of Fine Arts there . His teachers were Edmund Hellmer and Carl Kundmann . In 1896 he exhibited his main work in the Vienna Künstlerhaus , the group of a storyteller with the title "Once Upon a Time" . He also made other genre groups such as the Teasing , the Bacchante and the Dreaming , all of which were bought by private buyers.

Haag exhibited his work several times in the Vienna Künstlerhaus, but also in Prague . He belonged to the artist association of Austrian sculptors, which was founded in 1905. He lived in Vienna-Margareten . He was buried at the Vienna Central Cemetery .
