Johannes Ruland (born December 8, 1939 in Frechen ; † February 5, 2020 ) was a German manager and entrepreneur.

Life

Ruland was a graduate in business administration. He worked as a general representative of the Kraemer Group and as an independent entrepreneur in the diamond and coin trade. Since 1974 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Gold Kraemer Foundation , since 2007 as Chairman of the Board.

Since 1979 Johannes Ruland was a member of the "Military and Hospitable Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem" (KCLJ), most recently in the Humanitarian Grand Priory Europe.

Johannes Ruland died in 2020 at the age of 80.

honors and awards

In 2001 Johannes Ruland was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for his social commitment .

In 2008 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia from Prime Minister Jürgen Rüttgers .

The Grand Master of the Order of Lazarus, Carlos Gereda de Borbon, honored his “long-standing great commitment” in setting up the Lazarus Relief Organization (LHW) by awarding him the Knight's Cross for Merit with a Star in October 2014.

In 2016 he was awarded the Order of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany for his many years of social commitment. It was presented to him by NRW Minister of Social Affairs Rainer Schmeltzer .
