Johannes Schöllhorn
Johannes Schöllhorn (born June 30, 1962 in Murnau am Staffelsee ) is a German composer .
Life
Schöllhorn grew up in Marktoberdorf . He studied composition with Klaus Huber , Emmanuel Nunes and Mathias Spahlinger and music theory with Peter Förtig at the Freiburg University of Music . He also attended conducting courses with Péter Eötvös .
From 1995 to 2000 he taught at the University of Music and Theater in Zurich and from 2001 to 2009 as a professor of composition at the University of Music and Theater in Hanover . From 2009 he was a professor at the Cologne University of Music and Dance . He has been teaching at the Freiburg University of Music since 2017 and is also head of the University's Institute for New Music.
