The John S. Thompson Bridge ( Dutch John S. Thompsonbrug ) is a bridge over the Maas between Grave and Nederasselt in the Netherlands . It is important for the road connection from 's-Hertogenbosch to Nijmegen and was built between 1926 and 1929.
The bridge was a strategic target for Operation Market Garden in 1944 . In 2004 it was named after Lieutenant John S. Thompson (1917–1988), who took it with his group during the operation.
