John A. Minetto State Park is a state park in the US state of Connecticut in the area of the municipality of Torrington . It covers an area of 289 hectares (715 acres) and is ideal for picnicking, fishing and winter skiing. Originally the area was called Hall Meadow .
geography
The Hall Meadow Brook runs through the park from north to south and is dammed at the south end to the Hall Meadow Brook Reservoir . It drains into the western branch of the Naugatuck River . The area is characterized by small rivers and various ponds ( Beechers Pond ) and lakes. About one mile further south is Stillwater Pond State Park .
