John Abbotts (born October 10, 1924 in Goldenhill , Stoke-on-Trent , † February 10, 2008 in Stoke-on-Trent) was an English football player .

Career

Abbotts played in local Stoke football for clubs Meakin’s and Ravenscliffe before joining professional club Port Vale in the Football League Third Division South in May 1949 . The defensive player only came to three competitive appearances during his four-year membership in the 1950/51 season . First in August 1950 as right back against AFC Newport County (final score 1: 2), followed by two games as a center runner against Plymouth Argyle (2: 1) and FC Watford (0: 2) in March 1951 . Abbotts left Port Vale again in May 1953.
