John Bardolf, 3rd Baron Bardolf
John Bardolf, 3rd Baron Bardolf (born January 13, 1314 - † July 29, 1363 in Assisi , Italy ) was an English nobleman .
He was the son and heir of Thomas Bardolf, 2nd Baron Bardolf (1282-1329) from his marriage to Agnes de Grandson († 1357). When his father died in 1329 he inherited the title of Baron Bardolf , but was still a minor, so that he did not get control of his lands until 1335.
He fought on campaigns in Scotland , the Holy Roman Empire and Brittany and was promoted to Knight Banneret in 1345 .
Marriage and offspring
In 1327 he married Elizabeth Damory († 1361), only daughter and heiress of Roger Damory, 1st Baron Damory from his marriage to Lady Elizabeth de Clare , a granddaughter of King Edward I. With her he had a son and heir:
- William Bardolf, 4th Baron Bardolf (1349-1386).
