Johnny Bent
John Peale "Johnny" Bent (born August 5, 1908 in Eagles Mere , Pennsylvania , † June 5, 2004 in Lake Forest , Illinois ) was an American ice hockey player .
Career
Johnny Bent first attended the Harrisburg Academy and the Kent Schol before studying at Yale University from 1926 to 1930 . He played ice hockey for three years and baseball for a year for Yale University . He played amateur ice hockey from 1930 to 1932 before ending his career. During World War II , he served as a lieutenant for 15 months and was awarded both the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart .
International
For the United States , Bent took part in the 1932 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid , where he and his team won the silver medal. He himself scored three goals and one assist in six games.
