John Bierhorst

John William Bierhorst (born 1936 in Boston ) is an American writer, translator, and ethnologist. He translates from the Nahuatl and Mapudungun . In 2001 he was editor of The Norton Anthology of World Literature . He wrote various works on the mythology of the American Indians (including Mythology of North America, Mythology of South America, Mythology of Mexico and Central America and History and Mythology of the Aztecs ).
