John Cherleton, 2nd Baron Cherleton
John Cherleton, 2nd Baron Cherleton (also Charleton or Charleton ; † before August 30, 1360 ) was an Anglo-Welsh Marcher Lord .
John was the eldest son of John Cherleton, 1st Baron Cherleton and of Hawise de la Pole , heiress of Powys Welsh rule . He fought under the Black Prince in Gascony during the Hundred Years War in the 1350s . After his father's death in 1353 he inherited the Powys reign. In March 1354 Cherleton was appointed to Parliament for the first time as Baron . In 1359 he became Chamberlain of the Household , but died shortly before August 30, 1360.
He was married to Maud Mortimer , daughter of Roger de Mortimer of Wigmore and Joan de Geneville , before April 13, 1319 . With her he had at least one son who became his heir:
