John Collier (athlete)
John Collier ( John Sheldon Collier ; born September 26, 1907 in Buffalo , † October 31, 1984 in Coronado , California ) was an American hurdler who specialized in the 110-meter distance .
In 1928 he qualified as US runner-up for the Olympic Games in Amsterdam , where he won the bronze medal in 14.9 s behind the South African Sydney Atkinson (14.8 s) and his compatriot Stephen Anderson (14.9 s).
In 1934 he was US indoor champion over 65 m hurdles.
John Collier graduated from Brown University .
