John Garrison
John Bright Garrison (born February 13, 1909 in West Newton , Massachusetts , † May 13, 1988 in Lincoln , Massachusetts) was an American ice hockey player and coach .
Career
John Garrison attended Harvard University , for whose ice hockey team he played parallel. He then worked in amateur ice hockey before embarking on a career as a businessman. In 1973 he was honored with induction into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame .
International
For the USA Garrison took part as a player in the Olympic Winter Games in Lake Placid in 1932 and in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 1936 . In addition, he was in the squad of his country in the World Cup 1933 . At the 1932 Winter Games he and his team won the silver medal and the bronze medal at the 1936 Winter Games. At the 1933 World Cup he was world champion with the USA, where he scored the winning goal to 2-1 in extra time in the final against Canada .
At the Olympic Winter Games in St. Moritz in 1948 , Garrison was the head coach of the US national team.
