John Graham (* 1873 in Northumberland ; † unknown) was an English football player .

Career

Graham came in November 1893 from Blyth FC from his home region of Northumberland as a test player to Manchester for Newton Heath , which played in the Football League First Division . A few months earlier, the Heathians from the same club had already signed Joe Cassidy , who played a decisive role in staying up in 1893. Graham convinced those in charge at Newton Heath and received a professional contract. Just a few days later he made his league debut as a center forward on November 11, 1893 in a 1-0 win - one of only six wins this season - against Wolverhampton Wanderers . The center forward position was otherwise mostly occupied by Bob Donaldson in the course of the season , Graham came up to January 1894 in the storm row around John Peden and Alf Farman to three more missions, but remained in the three defeats without a goal. After Newton Heath finished last in the table at the end of the season and lost 2-0 in the "test match" against Liverpool , first in the Second Division , the club was relegated from the First Division and Graham was not committed beyond the end of the season.
