John Hill (screenwriter)

John Hill is an American screenwriter and television producer .

Hill began writing the 1976 television film Griffin and Phoenix with Peter Falk and Jill Clayburgh in Hollywood . In 1980 Herzquietschen followed with Andy Kaufman and Bernadette Peters . In 1988 he co-wrote the screenplay for Little Nikita, starring Sidney Poitier and River Phoenix .

Hill wrote the script for Quigley the Australian back in 1975. In 1980 the script was finally to be made into a film, but the project was dropped because of Steve McQueen's cancer . Later the film with Clint Eastwood should be realized, but he finally canceled. Ultimately, the film was released in 1990 with Tom Selleck in the lead role, and Laura San Giacomo and Alan Rickman also starred in the film.

Hill later gained notoriety for his work on the television series Back to the Past and LA Law , for which he was awarded an Emmy .

Hill currently works at the University of Nevada (UNLV) in Las Vegas teaching low-cost filmmaking to budding directors.
