John Hora

John Charles Hora (born February 16, 1940 in Pasadena , California ) is an American cameraman .

Life

John Charles Hora was born the son of an amateur photographer studying at the Art Center School of Design and the grandson of a Missouri photographer. He graduated from the University of Southern California Film School . He made his debut in 1973 as a self-employed cameraman with the biopic Maurie . In his career he worked in particular as a cameraman for the American film director Joe Dante . The collaboration includes the feature films The Animal , Weird Shadow Lights , Gremlins - Little Monsters , Gremlins - Little Monsters , Explorers - A Fantastic Adventure and Matinée .

Hora has been a member of the American Society of Cinematographers since 1985 and has worked on an honorary basis for the in-house magazine American Cinematographer since 2005 . He also worked occasionally as a visiting professor for the Los Angeles Film School .
