John Israel

John Israel (born May 2, 1833 in Hamburg ; † October 30, 1898 there ) was a Hamburg attorney, lawyer and politician.

Life

Israel was the son of a Jewish merchant who immigrated from London , he attended Schleiden's school and then completed a commercial apprenticeship in London. He then studied law and obtained a doctorate in Göttingen in 1857 . On 29 June 1857, Israel was in Hamburg as a lawyer admitted he was until his death inscribed as such. From 1868 to 1898 Israel belonged to the Hamburg citizenship , he was a member of the faction of the right . Israel served at times as a major in the civil military .
