John Kerr (born August 9, 1951 in Toronto ) is a retired Canadian sailor .

successes

John Kerr, who is a member of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club , took part in the Soling boat class at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles . Together with Stephen Calder he was a member of the crew of skipper Hans Fogh and won the bronze medal with them when they finished third thanks to 49.7 points behind the US and Brazilian boats. In 1978 he had already won bronze at the World Championships in Soling . In 1975, 1978, 1980, 1983 and 1984 Kerr was Canadian champion in Soling and also European champion in 1978, 1982 and 1983.

Kerr graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1976 before graduating from York University with a degree in economics from 1978 to 1982 . He then worked, among other things, in his father's company, Kerrwil Publications Limited . He is married and has two children.
