John Levene

John Levene (born December 24, 1941 in Salisbury , Wiltshire ) is an English actor .

Career

In 1967, John Levene played alongside Patrick Troughton a cyberman and a yeti in the episodes The Invasion and Web of Fear of the British television series Doctor Who . Director Douglas Camfield saw him and cast him as Sergeant Benton when Benton's original cast member was fired. Until 1975 he played Benton in 73 episodes of Doctor Who . 1972 he had an appearance in the film Go for a Take . In 1973 Levene appeared in the films The Grave of Living Dolls ( Dark Places ) and The Frog ( Psychomania ). In 1975 he portrayed Adams in power of attorney to murder ( Permission to Kill ). 1987 was again to be seen as Sergeant Benton in the film Wartime . Since the 1990s he worked as a voice actor and was only seen in a few films and series. In 2002 he played Bernie Shanks in the film Cannibalistic. In 2010 he was also seen as Bernie Shanks in the horror film Satan Hates You . In 2013 Levene Sergeant Benton spoke again in the Big Finish radio play Council of War .
