Task Force Police is an English police series, which is a further development of the Softly Softly series , which in turn is an offshoot of the television series Z-Cars .

The first and second seasons ran (almost completely) initially between September 1971 and March 1975 in several third programs on ARD. From November 23, 1975 to June 6, 1976, these episodes were broadcast nationwide on Sunday afternoon on ARD. Due to the great public response, the ARD broadcast a further 26 selected episodes from the third and fourth seasons from September 25, 1977 to April 9, 1978. From 1983 to 1985 the series was shown again in several third programs on ARD.

- The company "Simply Media" released the first season of the BBC series (in the original: Softly Softly Task Force ) on DVD in the UK in 2013 and the second season in 2016 . In 2015/2016 the company "Pidax" released three German DVD boxes with all those episodes whose German synchronization is still preserved. There are 24 episodes from seasons 3 and 4.
