John Marenbon
John Alexander Marenbon (born August 26, 1955 in London ) is an English philosopher .
Life
He received his BA, MA, PhD and DLitt from the University of Cambridge . He has been a Fellow of Trinity College since 1978 and a Senior Research Fellow there since 2005. In 2010 he became an honorary professor of medieval philosophy at Cambridge. He also taught at the University of Paris IV , was a visiting scholar at the Center for Medieval Studies and Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies at the University of Toronto . He was elected a Fellow of the British Academy in 2009.
His interests include the entire breadth of philosophy in the long Middle Ages (approx. 200 - approx. 1700), in the Latin and Greek Christian, Islamic and Jewish traditions.
