John Moods

John Moods (* 1985 as Jonathan Jarzyna in southern Germany) is a German - Polish songwriter and musician.

biography

John Moods grew up in southern Germany and moved to Berlin in 1994 . He co-founded the Berlin band Fenster and released his debut album “The Essential John Moods” in June 2018 on the Berlin label Mansions and Millions. Diviam Hoffmann from ByteFM named the album among the "Albums of the Year 2018".

Since then, John Moods has played at festivals at home and abroad, such as the SXSW in Texas, Torstraßenfestival in Berlin, the Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen and the Waves Vienna . He also went on tour as a live musician with Sean Nicholas Savage and played as the opening act for Jonathan Bree. In 2018 he was a guest on the London internet radio station NTS.

In the following year he published the single I Wanted You , which was presented by the magazines Diffus , Nothing but Hope and Passion, NEØLYD and the British magazine Notion, among others . In 2019 John Moods went on tour with the Swiss musician Dagobert .

In 2020 his music was played on various US TV series, including a. on the HBO series High Maintenance and the series adaptation of High Fidelity on Hulu .

style

The music magazine Spex called his style “AOR- Yacht Rock of the Eighties”, the Musikexpress speaks of “woolly country observations up to groove meditations over guitar pads” and the intro called his music synth-pop . ByteFM compares its music with "Californian soft rock and sunshine pop of the 1960s and 1970s".
