John Nilsson (athlete)

John Nilsson (born August 14, 1905 in Taxinge , † October 22, 1978 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish bandy , ice hockey and football player . He is one of three Swedish athletes who have become national champions in the three sports and who have played international matches.

career

Nilsson started his career at Södertälje SK . With the club he won the Swedish ice hockey championship in 1925. In the same year he joined AIK Solna . In 1931 he won the national championship title with the bandy team. By 1936 he played 150 times for the club in Fotbollsallsvenskan and was Swedish football champion in 1932 before becoming Swedish ice hockey champion again in 1934.

Nilsson played 19 full international matches for the Swedish national soccer team , scoring seven goals. He also completed a B international match. He was used eleven times in the Swedish ice hockey team and was European champion in 1932. He also played two international matches.

Nilsson was named a Stor Grabb in football in 1931 . After the end of his active career, he stayed with the association as an official at AIK.
