John O. Voll

John Obert Voll (born April 20, 1936 in Hudson , Wisconsin ) is an American history professor and expert on Islam , particularly on Islam in Sudan .

As director of the Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at Georgetown University in Washington, DC , he succeeded founding director John L. Esposito . He himself was replaced as director by Jonathan AC Brown .
