John Phillips (politician, before 1821)

John Phillips (* before 1821 in Chester County , Pennsylvania , † after 1823) was an American politician . Between 1821 and 1823 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Neither the date of birth nor the exact place of birth of this politician have been recorded. The same goes for his death dates. Nothing is known about his youth and school education or his professional career. It is only noted that he received limited schooling. Phillips became a member of the Federalist Party founded by Alexander Hamilton in the 1790s . In the congressional election of 1820 he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the third constituency of Pennsylvania , where he succeeded James M. Wallace on March 4, 1821 . Until March 3, 1823 he was able to complete a legislative period in Congress . After his time in the US House of Representatives, his trail is lost.
