Mostar Sevdah Reunion is a folk music ensemble from Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina .

Foundation, members, tours

The Mostar Sevdah Reunion almost exclusively plays Sevdalinka . The band was formed in 1998 by Dragi Šestić who brought together a group of local, talented and experienced musicians. The first album was recorded in the summer of 1999. Since then, the group has taken part in numerous world music festivals and won several awards.

The band members are: Miso Petrović (lead guitar), Sandi Duraković (guitar), Nermin Alukić Čerkez (vocals and guitar), Marko Jakovljević (bass), Gabrijel Prusina (piano), Senad Trnovac (drums) and Vanja Radoja (violin) .

Mostar Sevdah Reunion has worked with well-known musicians in the field of gypsy music: Two albums were made with Šaban Bajramović , two more albums with Ljiljana Buttler . Ljiljana toured frequently with the band until her death in 2010. The group has been working together for many years with the singer Esma Redžepova . In particular, the joint interpretation of the Bosnian folk song Moj dilbere enthusiastic audiences and press.
