Ljiljana Butler

Ljiljana Buttler (born December 14, 1944 in Belgrade , † April 26, 2010 in Düsseldorf , actually Ljiljana Petrović ) was a Yugoslav singer. The daughter of a Croatian singer and a Serbian Roma accordionist grew up in the small Bosnian village of Bijeljina . In the beginning, she occasionally jumped in for her mother in bars, pubs and pubs, which she later continued professionally after successes that followed. Over time, their popularity rose more and more. Their style of music has been referred to as Gypsy Soul . Ljiljana withdrew from the music scene in 1987 and later emigrated to Germany because of the war in Yugoslavia . Only in 2002 did she return to the former Yugoslavia, where she recorded an album with the Bosnian band “ Mostar Sevdah Reunion ”.
